Most women who take birth control pills - ESTROSTEP - periods lighter and shorter. an improvement in acne is often seen by women who are not using the pill specifically for this purpose. Some women who have had problems with headaches find they have fewer headaches while taking birth control pills.

Mild side effects

Other minor side effects are not experienced by most women, and usually disappear within a month or two. these include bleeding, acne, progress between periods, breast tenderness, headache and nausea or vomiting. Additional side effects include swelling and less common, breast enlargement, changes in the eyes that make contact lenses more difficult to decrease in sexual desire, freckles or darkening of facial skin, and weight gain or changes in appetite.

Cardiovascular side effects


Dangerous side effects are possible, although rare. Smoking increases the risk of many dangerous side effects ESTROSTEP and other oral contraceptives. These
include high blood pressure, blood clots, strokes and heart attacks. a sudden change in vision or loss of vision may indicate a blood clot in the eye, and leg cramps or swelling may indicate a blood clot in his leg. shortness of breath and chest pain may be signs of a pulmonary blood clot or a heart attack. stroke symptoms include changes in vision or speech, weakness on one side of the body, or severe headache.

Other harmful effects

Another rare but dangerous side effect is damage to the liver, jaundice and dark urine. Migraines can occur, or worsening of migraines in people who have had before. Some people suffer from depression while taking birth control pills. an allergic reaction can occur, with symptoms of rash, urticaria, facial swelling or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
Drug Interactions

Other oral contraceptives Estrostep and interact with many medications that can decrease the effectiveness of birth control. people who need these medications should use an additional contraceptive method. some of these drugs include antibiotics, anticonvulsants, aprepitant, barbiturates, cyclosporine, modafinil, prednisolone inhibitors, protease inhibitors, selegiline, and St. John's wort.
